How to Create and Send Newsletter in Magento

Do you know you can send out newsletter to your customers?

With Magento, you can send out new promotions and discounts. How it works is that Magento Newsletter allows the store administrators to send newsletters to clients who are subscribed to them.

First, you need to to enable the option for the customers to confirm that they agree to receive the newsletter. Here's how you do this inside your Magento administrator dashboard.

Login to your Magento administrator dashboard and click on Stores >> Configuration (Under Settings section >> Customers > Newsletter.

Expand the Subscription Options area and change the Need to Confirm field value to Yes.

The clients can unsubscribe for the newsletter. The administrator can define the Unsubscription Email Sender and the Unsubscription Email Template through the corresponding drop-down menus. The same is valid for the newsletter's Success e-mail sender and Success e-mail templates. You can use one and the same or you can customize them per your needs. Click on Save Config to confirm the modification.

Now you should set the newsletter template by clicking on Marketing >> Newsletter Template>> Add New Template button.

This would open up the newsletter addition window where you should add the Template Name, Template Subject, Sender Name, Sender Email, Template Content and Template Styles.

Next, click on the Preview Template button and save it by clicking on the Save Template button at the top right corner.

The template will be added to the corresponding list and you will be able to edit it.

If you plan to send the message to a large list of recipients, you should divide the list in small parts. You can configure such a functionality through the Magento Admin dashboard >> Marketing (Communications section) >> Newsletter templates. Then choose Queue Newsletter from the drop down next to the template.

In the Queue Date Start field define when the newsletter will be sent. The messages will leave the e-mail server in small batches. Check the other options and click on the Save Newsletter button at the top right corner when you are ready.

Once you have delivered the newsletter, you can check out the report by clicking on Marketing >> Newsletter Subscribers (Under Communications).

Sometimes, potential error may occur during the newsletter delivery. How do you find it?

Well, it's simple.

You just need login to the Magento Admin Area >> Reports >> Newsletter Problem Reports (Under Marketing section)

Once you have identified the error, you can take the necessary steps to resolve them.
