How Enable Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs in Magento

By default, all popular Content Management System (CMS) often generate automated URLs for site pages, which may include numbers or special characters. URLs in such format are difficult to understand for readers and for search engines too. That's why we need to edit these URLs to becoming more presentable or structured in a more understandable format.

This Magento tutorial below will guide you how to enable Magento SEO Friendly URLs for higher rank in the search engine page result (SERP).

Login to your Magento administrator dashboard and click on Stores > Settings > Configuration

Under the General navigation menu, switch to Web from the sub-navigation panel on the left.

Click on Search Engine Optimization and uncheck Use system value.

Choose Yes under Use Web Server Rewrites.

Press the Save Config button at the top right corner to save changes. Magento SEF URLs will be enabled.
