Send Email from Another Address Using Gmail (Alias)
NOTE: The following tutorial is using SSL Settings Using Port 465
First, log into your existing gmail account. Then, click on the gear image on the top right hand corner and click on Settings.
Click on the Accounts and Import tab and click on Send Mail As
Enter Your Name and check the box on Treat as an Alias . Then, Next Step.
Enter Your SMTP Server (Use Host Name e.g. unicorn.sfdns.net ) and select Port 465 as shown below.
Username: Your domain-based email address
Password: Your domain-based email password
Tick the box for Secured Connection Using SSL ( recommended ) before clicking on Add Account .
You shall see the Confirm Verification message. Remember to enter your Confirmation Code here.
Return to Gmail and click on the gear icon on the top right hand corner and click on Settings.
Click on Accounts and Import tab and click on Make Default in order to make your new email address as the sending email (alias).
From inside Gmail, try to compose a new email using your latest alias email address. Below is a successful email received from the new alias email address.
