How to Enable/Disable XML Sitemaps in WordPress
Having an XML sitemap can be beneficial for SEO, as Google can retrieve essential pages of a website very fast, even if the internal linking of a site isn’t flawless.
Note: You need to install Yoast SEO plugin in your WordPress blog before you can perform this. Click here for instructions
How to Enable XML Sitemaps **
- Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.
On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on SEO
- The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on General .

- Click on the Features tab.

- Toggle the 'XML Sitemaps' switch to 'On'.

- Click 'Save Changes' to activate XML Sitemaps.
How to Disable XML Sitemaps
- Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.
On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on 'SEO'
- The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'General'.

- Click on the Features tab.

- Toggle the XML Sitemaps switch to Off.

- Click 'Save Changes' to disable XML Sitemaps.
How to View XML Sitemaps
- Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.

- The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'General'.

- Click on the Features tab.

- View your XML Sitemap by clicking the question mark next to the XML sitemaps toggle.
