How to Enable/Disable XML Sitemaps in WordPress

Having an XML sitemap can be beneficial for SEO, as Google can retrieve essential pages of a website very fast, even if the internal linking of a site isn’t flawless.

Note: You need to install Yoast SEO plugin in your WordPress blog before you can perform this. Click here for instructions



How to Enable XML Sitemaps




1) Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.

On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on SEO


2) The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on General .





3) Click on the Features tab.






4) Toggle the 'XML Sitemaps' switch to 'On'.





5) Click 'Save Changes' to activate XML Sitemaps.






How to Disable XML Sitemaps



1) Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.
On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on 'SEO'



2) The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'General'.





3) Click on the Features tab.





4) Toggle the XML Sitemaps switch to Off.





5) Click 'Save Changes' to disable XML Sitemaps.





How to View XML Sitemaps




1) Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'.
On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on 'SEO'



2) The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'General'.





3) Click on the Features tab.





4) View your XML Sitemap by clicking the question mark next to the XML sitemaps toggle.
