How to Activate the Akismet Plugin in WordPress

  1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard and click on Plugins >> Installed Plugins.



  1. You will notice the Akismet Plugin is in Deactivated state. Click on the Activate button to activate the Akismet plugin.



  1. Click on Set Up Akismet Account



  1. You will be redirect to the following page. Enter your Akismet API as highlighted below.


NOTE: The latest Akismet account no longer offer FREE Api Keys. The sample screenshot above and below is utilizing API Keys from older Akismet account.



  1. Here's how your Akismet appears upon activation. Click the Save Changes button.
