# How to View the Source of a Message in Mozilla Thunderbird (Without Opening the Email)

To display the source of a message in Mozilla Thunderbird. please perform the following simple steps:

1. Open your Thunderbird and click by highlighting the target email inside your message list.

2.  Click the **Menu item** as highlighted (or press **Alt button** on your keyboard if your menu bar is hidden) before selecting **View > Message Source** from the menu.

3. You shall see the entire message source immediately.
