# How to Use UpDraft Plus Plugin to Generate Backup inside Dropbox

|| NOTE: By default, Dropbox offers 2GB of storage. If you need higher storage e.g. 5 TB, you may switch to Amazon S3. Link to tutorial using Amazon S3 is available at the bottom of this tutorial.

Here's how we demonstrate the use of UpdraftPlus plugin to generate backup inside Dropbox :

1. Login to your WordPress dashboard and click on **Plugins > Add New**. Search for UpdraftPlus by typing into the search box. Next, click on **Install Now** button and follow by the **Activate** button.

2. To set up UpdraftPlus, select **Settings > UpdraftPlus Backups** from your WordPress menu. This will open the UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore page, where you can customize the UpdraftPlus settings to suit your backup needs.

3. For Manual backup, simply click on **Backup Now** button. You will notice the last log message being generated as seen from the screenshot below:

You may now download the manual backup to your local server or have UpdraftPlus automatically upload it to a remote storage location

4. Alternatively, you may configure auto-backup according to your own schedule by clicking on the Settings tab and choose how often to backup your database and files. In this example, I choose " **Daily** " backup for both Files and Database.

You can also choose how many previous backups to save. When you are happy with your backup schedule settings, remember to click on **Save Changes **at the bottom of the page.

5. It's time to specify where you want the backup file to be stored. In this example, instead of downloading to our own computer, we are going to use **Dropbox** to store our backup file remotely. Select the **Settings** tab again and scroll down the page to **Choose your Remote Storage**.

The integration settings for the solution you have chosen will then appear further down the page.

6. You shall see this popup once you have pressed the **Save Changes** button at the bottom of the page.

7. Click on the **Complete Setup** link in this popup.

Once integration is done, you shall see the following message.

_Success: you have authenticated your Dropbox account. _
_Your Dropbox account name: Your Dropbox Account Name _
_Your Dropbox quota usage: X % used, XXX MB available_

8. Since we have already set " **Daily** " Files and " **Database** " backup, depending on your settings rest assured you will see another backup generated successfully. You may also refer to the Last Log Message as follows.
