# How to Update or Upgrade Your Joomla to the Latest Version

Here's how you can update your outdated Joomla script by using Sofatculous:

1. Login to cPanel and click on **Softaculous App Installer** under Software section.

2. Type **Joomla** on the left panel of search bar as seen below and press it once.

3. You'll be redirected to your Joomla installation page. Scroll down and look for your previously installed Joomla script as seen below.  Click on the **Refresh** button in order to perform the latest software update.

4. Click on the **Upgrade** button as highlighted in order to proceed with the patch upgrade.

5. You shall see the **Congratulations, the software was upgraded successfully** message once the upgrade is complete.
