How to Perform Email Account Setup in MacBook (POP3 and IMAP)

In order to configure your email on a Mac Computer( iMac or Macbook), please follow the below steps.

1. Open Mail on your Apple Mac OS.

2. Click Mail menu and select Preferences.

3. Then Select Accounts and click on the + button.

4. Select Add Other mail option.

5. In the Add a Mail account window enter your Full name, email address and Password and then click Create.
   Application will try to detect the settings automatically. Disregard the result, click on Next.

6. In the Incoming Mail Server screen, select POP protocol for Account Type, and enter your account details and click Next.

Mail Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
Username: full email address
Password: password for your email account

7. Some additional settings maybe required:

Prefix: leave this field empty
POP3 Port: 995 with SSL enabled for POP3
IMAP Port: 993 with SSL enabled for IMAP
Authentication: Set to email account password

8. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, fill out the details as follows:

SMTP Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
User Name: full email address
Password: password for your email account

9. For the additional settings, SMPT Port Number as 465 and check the box next to Use SSL and set the Authentication to Password.

Save and test.
