By default, WordPress offers permalinks like this:

_https://www.yourdomain.com/?p=123_

This type of permalink is not search engine friendly, so most newbie bloggers just starting with WordPress fail to create a site that is optimizing WordPress permalinks for SEO because they are using the default permalinks.

Here's the best Permalinks setup for optimal SEO result:

1. Login to WordPress Dashboard and click on **Settings > Permalinks**.

2. Under custom structure, choose or type **%postname%** as shown in the screenshot below:

3. Press **Save Changes** button.
