The configuration file of all scripts is a place to find valuable details for your website. Examples include the database details (username & password), domain name and many more. Each application has different ways of operating and this means that the information that you will be able to find in the configuration file will be different as well.

For Concrete5, it's very easy to identify the configuration file. What you need to do is login to your File Manager or using FTP such as File Manager to locate that file.

As an example, we use File Manager to locate the configuration file called database.php from the following path:

/public_html/mydomain.com/concrete5/application/config/

NOTE: Replace mydomain.com with your own domain name.

Why Do We Need to Know About Our Configuration File?
The answer is simple. Knowing which is your database and also its password may come handy one day especially when generating or restoring a backup of your Concrete5 website.
