# How to Enable/Disable XML Sitemaps in WordPress

Having an XML sitemap can be beneficial for SEO, as Google can retrieve essential pages of a website very fast, even if the internal linking of a site isn’t flawless.

### How to Enable XML Sitemaps **


1) Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'. 

On the left-hand side, you will see a menu.  In that menu, click on **SEO**


2) The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on **General** .

3) Click on the Features tab.

4) Toggle the 'XML Sitemaps' switch to 'On'.

5) Click 'Save Changes' to activate XML Sitemaps.






### How to Disable XML Sitemaps 

1) Log in to your WordPress website. When you're logged in, you will be in your 'Dashboard'. 
On the left-hand side, you will see a menu. In that menu, click on 'SEO'



2) The 'SEO' settings will expand providing you additional options. Click on 'General'.

3) Click on the Features tab.

4) Toggle the **XML Sitemaps** switch to **Off**.

5) Click 'Save Changes' to disable XML Sitemaps.





### How to View XML Sitemaps

3) Click on the Features tab.

4) View your XML Sitemap by clicking the question mark next to the XML sitemaps toggle.
