# How to Enable Gzip Compression in Joomla

The internal Joomla compression system allows your visitors to transfer compressed pages, which in general reduces the webpage size and maximize the site's loading speed. 

In order to enable this feature, follow next steps: 


1. Login to your Joomla Administrator dashboard and click on **System → Global Configuration**.

2. Click on the **Server** tab and look for Gzip Page Compression.

Click once on the **Yes** button and press **Save & Close** button to save changes.
