# How to Check If the Domain Name Is Active

**MYNIC DOMAIN - .my / .com.my / .edu.my /.org.my / .gov.my**

1. Visit this link : https://mynic.my/whois/ on your browser then type the domain name and click **SEARCH**

2. You may check either the domain is active by check on the **Record Expired**

**Other domain - .com/ .net /.org / .biz /etc**

1. Visit https://www.whois.com/whois/ on your browser, type the domain name, and click **SEARCH**

2. Check the “Domain Information” box. If you notice **“clientTransferProhibited”** on the Status of your domain , then your domain is Active.
