# How to Add & Manage Products in Magento - Part 1 (Basic)

When it comes to e-commerce, the most critical skill is product management. In Magento this process consists of a few main parts.


### Adding Products to Magento - Part 1
1. Login to your Magento administrator dashboard and click on **Catalog >> Products**.

2. Click on the drop down box at the **Add product** button at the top right of the page. Click on **Simple Product**.

3. You shall be redirected to the next page where you need to key in the product options such as **Attribute Set, Product Name, SKU, Price, Tax Class, Quantity, Stock Status, Visibility, Set Product as New From and Country of Manufacture**. The ones I mentioned here are considered as the most basic requirement. 

Below is an example of our own Magento store selling web hosting plan e.g. _Semi-Pro_ package together with the basic details:

You may review all of the available options when you scroll down. Press the **Save** button at the top right corner in order to save the basic details of your product.
